Sovereignty Rises

Sovereignty Rises is a Real-Time Strategy game inspired by Paradox’s Europa Universalis & Hearts of Iron as well as Sid Meier’s Civilization. The goal of the game is to put realism as the forefront of the development of the various functions and mechanics within the game.

Care is taken to ensure the relative accuracy of the systems in place so it produces a realistic looking world. Plate tectonics are simulated along with the land cratons that also float on the plates to produce this varied terrain.

There are so many things to cover and so many things to think up!

Planned Features

Many systems are involved in simulating what basically is reality, so here is a run down of what is planned for the release version of the game.

  • Customization of as many aspects as possible.
  • Editing Tools to cater to the World Builders out there and those who want to have a little fun.
  • Climate simulation with dynamic weather patterns.
  • Natural Disasters like Earthquakes, Hurricanes, & Tsunamis!
  • Realistic Flora & Fauna Distributions with simulated evolutionary branching.
  • Sentient Beings that grow and interact with each other, driving the core of civilization itself.
  • Warfare of all 4 types, Land, Sea, Air, & Space.
  • Resource Management down to the elements and molecules.

Customization

One of the core principles is the ability to customize as much as possible while giving a playable and enjoyable experience tailored to the individual player.

Weather & Climate

This is a big factor in gameplay as it will decide a lot of the key aspects of the game from settlements to resources from certain oxides and other minerals to where certain flora and fauna are populated. Importantly, in order to achieve the level of detail desired, there must be a simulation of different atmospheric and oceanic layers to simulate their currents and thus the distribution
